]]> ● लंडनमधील मराठीजनांना हक्काचे सांस्कृतिक भवन मिळावे, या अनेक वर्षांच्या मागणीला आता मूर्त स्वरूप मिळणार आहे.
● महाराष्ट्र मंडळ, लंडन या संस्थेला लंडनमधील ‘चर्च ऑफ इंग्लंड’ची इमारत खरेदी करून तेथे ‘महाराष्ट्र भवन’ उभारण्यासाठी 5 कोटी रुपयांचा निधी मंजूर केला आहे,
● महाराष्ट्र मंडळ, लंडन ही भारताबाहेरील आणि युनायटेड किंगडममधील सर्वात जुन्या मराठी संस्थांपैकी आहे.
● 1932 मध्ये महात्मा गांधींचे वैयक्तिक सचिव डॉ. एन. सी. केळकर यांनी या मंडळाची स्थापना केली.
● लंडन आणि आसपासच्या परिसरातील मराठी बांधवांना सामाजिक आणि सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमांच्या माध्यमातून एकत्र आणणे, हा या संस्थेचा मुख्य उद्देश होता.
● लंडन आणि परिसरातील सुमारे एक लाखाहून अधिक मराठी बांधव या मंडळाशी जोडले गेले आहेत.
