UPSC Prelims

The UPSC Prelims is the initial, critical stage of the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Primarily, it acts as a screening test. Candidates aim to become IAS, IPS, IFS, and other Group A & B officers. Indeed, clearing the UPSC Prelims is vital. Therefore, it qualifies candidates for the Mains. Thus, this phase is highly competitive.

Specifically, the UPSC Prelims includes two objective papers. First, there’s General Studies (GS) Paper I. Second, there’s CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Paper II. Notably, GS Paper I covers subjects like History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Environment, and Current Affairs. Conversely, CSAT Paper II tests comprehension, logical reasoning, and analytical ability. To pass, candidates must score above the GS Paper I cutoff. Moreover, they need at least 33% in CSAT Paper II.
